Camellia

Camellia sinensis is the tea plant species whose leaves and leaf buds are used to produce white tea, green tea, oolong and black tea. The essential oil is extracted from the seeds to retain the full benefits.

Camellia sinensis extract is rich in polyphenols which are free radical-fighting antioxidants and may help prevent premature aging and UV damage. The polyphenols which are found in Green Tea is also, thought by scientists, to reactivate dying skin cells. These antioxidants may play an important role in the prevention of cell damage. They may also have a soothing and moisturizing effect.

Green Tea extract can be found in many facial products including the following:

  • Creams
  • Moisturizers
  • Facial cleansers
  • Eye creams
  • Facial serums
  • Facial masks
  • Anti-aging treatments
  • Facial toners

Camellia oil is rich in oleic acid and contains vitamins A, B, D and E as well as the nourishing Omega 3, 6 and 9. An almost identical match for skin, it is absorbed quickly and thoroughly. It has more naturally-occurring antioxidants than almost any other botanically derived oil.
